Camping!

For spring break this year we decided we wanted attempt camping with the boys. Roland's friends from dental school were going up so we decided to tag along with them. We made the three and an half hour drive up to Beaver's Bend State Park in Oklahoma. I had never been to Oklahoma before so it is always fun to go to a state you have never been to. We knew that there was a 30% chance of rain and thunderstorms the night we went and of course the weather man got it right! It poured the whole night! But we stayed dry, thankfully and we survived the night with the boys.
The next day it was a beautiful day so we enjoyed the river and tried to do some fishing. It was so nice to get out of the loud city and into the peace of nature. We only stayed for a couple of days, but it was such a nice getaway and it is always refreshing to get out of town for a while.
Setting up the tent!
The only family picture we got.
Liam's attempting to fish!
I love that Landon is smiling at the camera.
The morning after all the rain. It was so cold as you can tell by Liam's expressions

The river. Our campsite was just up a little hill from here.

I love this picture of Roland and Liam
This would have been a good picture if Liam stepped out of the shadow.
I think this tree is so pretty. It was a beautiful place!

Roland didn't catch any fish, but he did catch 2 snapping turtles. This one was getting a little two friendly.
A group shot. We had so much fun!

You are brave, girl! How did the boys sleep? My biggest fear about taking the girls camping is that they would be climbing all over me all night, and none of us would get any.

You are very right! The picture of Liam and Roland fishing is great! I'm glad you continually update your blog. It's fun to see what you are all up to and to see the kids growing up. When are you coming to Utah?
