Our Second Anniversary....The STRATOSPHERE

We celebrated our 2nd anniversary on the 29th and since we were in St. George we decided to take a little trip to Vegas. Roland told me we were either going to lunch at the Stratosphere, the Luxor or the Eiffel tower hotel (we don't know what it is called). We I was hoping we would go the the Stratosphere because I have always wanted to go and that is where we went. It was so cool on top. I didn't know this but when you are eating the tower spins around so you can see all of Vegas. The food was amazing and it was such a fun thing to do to celebrate being married for two years.

The Stratosphere!

Yummy, yummy food!

This is the butter. When they first brought it out we thought it was white chocolate or something, but no, just the butter. It was really cool.

I also wanted to post and say how grateful I am to have such a wonderful husband. It has been two years since we have been married and it feels like we have already spent so much time together. I am grateful to have someone that listens to my worries and concerns and someone that I can laugh with everyday. Our lives are going to change a lot in the coming months, and I am glad that I have my best friend to be there with me through the changes. I love you Roland!

It's a Girl.....maybe

So we went to the doctor's last week to get my first ultasound. It was really cool to see the baby, althought it is kinda in the alien stage at this point. We wanted to find out the gender, but our baby was not in the best position. So the doctor said that he thinks it is a girl, but he could not be sure. There was this little bump and he couldn't tell exactly what it was. So we are telling people that it is a girl...maybe. So really we don't know. I think we are going to get another ultrasound in a couple of months to know for sure. So that is our news, even though it is not really any news. So although we didn't find out, we are really excited for our first baby pictures:)The baby's face. The eyes are HUGE!!!! Some ribs...we think!

Thanksgiving

Well this post is going to be sort of boring because we did not take any pictures, but I wanted to share our wonderful Thanksgiving. We went down to St. George to visit Roland's family. It was really fun because some of my siblings and cousins were able to go to. It made for one crowded house, but it was nice to hang out with everyone.
Well to sum up the weekend basically consisted of sleeping, eating a lot and playing lots of sports. Here is a list:
-Football(this is the one that made us the most sore)
-Basketball(this was mostly the boys)
-Volleyball
-Tennis
-Ultimate Frisbee(this was very muddy but very fun)
-Pickle Ball
-Oh, and Wii Sports..couldn't forget that one.

We were a little sore from playing all these sports, but it was very fun. It was also nice
that the weather was agreeable. Thanksgiving day was a little rainy, but the rest of the days were very nice. Lovely St. George. Well hopefully we will have some posts with pictures soon. Hope everyone else had a wonderful thanksgiving!

Well it is probably time I told everyone...

Hello everyone! So Roland and I have kinda been slacking about the whole blogging thing lately. But I thought it was probably time that we told everyone that we are having a baby! I am due May 12th, which seems like a really long time, but the weeks keep going by pretty fast, so I am already 15 weeks along. I am so excited for next month when I get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I have hunch that it going to be girl but that is only because I have no clue what names I would choose for a girl. I have had two doctor's appointments so far, and they have both gone well. The doctor was able to find the heartbeat both times, which is so cool. It makes everything seem a little more real. Well, I will probably be updating more as more things happen, but it is really exciting!

Happy Days

So Roland got his first interview with Baylor University! Woohoo! We are so excited. It is Nov. 14th and so he will have to fly to Texas, but we are happy. Hopefully the first of many offers!

Gretchen is a volleyball star!

Gretchen recently joined an intermural volleyball team. It has been really fun watching her games and cheering her on! Her team is doing pretty well, jugding by the fact that the last two games they won by forfeit because the other team didn't show up. Here are some actions shots of one of the games where they actually got to play.

Sunday Dinners

So the last month we have had weekly sunday dinner gatherings. It has been so nice to get everyone together to have a meal. The dinners have ranged from waffles to lasanga, but the food is always great! The last few pictures are of my family, and how I don't think we could all have a serious picture if we tried!

This is the nicest picture of the bunch...my crazy family!

Roland's 26th Birthday!

So Roland's Birthday was the 9th of September and we had a little party for him with cake and ice cream. It was nice because lots of people could come and celebrate. Rosie even made a suprise visit the day before which was so fun! So Happy Birthday Roland!

The Gang's all here!

Our Mouse Friend

One early morning about 3 weeks ago, I was eating breakfast when I hear this squeaking noise. I did not want to find out what the noise was, but I thought it was some sort of insect or something. So then I told Roland about it and he had to investigate. Turns out it was a mouse. We looked at it for a few minutes and then it was time for Roland to drop me off to catch ing noise. I didn't really want to find out what it was, but just assumed it was some kind of my carpool to work. So I thought that was the end of the mouse. I thought wrong. When I got home that day Roland informed me that he caught the mouse after I left and put it in a canister with some food and water. Although I was not too impressed with the whole mouse for a pet thing, the mouse was cute, and at least we didn't kill it. So here are some pictures of the whole ordeal.

Mona Ponds!

On Saturday we took a trip to Mona to find Mona Ponds. Roland had heard about them, but we had never gone before. The directions that we got were a little off, so we were doubtful that we would find them. When we finally found the ponds it turned out to be a lot of fun. There was this really cool rope swing that we would jump off of into the water. The pictures are so cool, so I posted a lot of them, so enjoy!
